The Science

How does it all work?
In practical terms,  all of the energy in our universe was created in one singular and definitive instant!
Picture
It is almost beyond our comprehension to understand this in the macro perspective of galaxies and multiverses, but keeping it relevant to your Solar Panels, we can more easily appreciate that over 99 per cent of the energy in our solar system comes from our Sun!

This colossal energy source contains most of the mass in our system, and is thought to contain sufficient 'fuel' to continue converting and radiating massive amounts of energy for many hundreds of millions of years to come.

Amongst the radiation spectrum emitted by our sun are incredibly small particles called Photons. Traveling at the speed of light, these photons have sufficient mass to dislodge electrons from the precisely manufactured wafers of silicon in the solar cells, inducing a very small current in the electrical grid through which the electrons pass.

The sum of all these small charges in the solar cells results in a useful output of 250 to 270 watts DC of power from each module (panel),  or approximately 1/4 of a kW, the standard maximum output of most of our panels.

Our Panels are arranged in interlocking configurations on your roof; the sum of the Panels is known as an Array.

Now the DC Current is ready to be cabled through High Density conduit to your Inverter, a critical component in your System that processes your Array output, or directly to your Storage Bank via your Charge Controller.

To see what we do with this DC Current generated by the Panels on your roof, click on the type of System above that fits your requirements - Grid Tied,  Off Grid  or Interactive/ Hybrid.
So in simple terms, lets recap:   Photons  >  Solar Cells  >  Panels  >  Array  +  Inverter  =  Clean Electricity
